Was Giuliani Campaign “Collapse” a Controlled Demolition?

In early 2007 Rudy Giuliani’s campaign stood tall and proud – “America’s Mayor” was America’s next president, easily ahead in every poll. But in the fall of 2007 Rudy Giuliani’s campaign was struck with unexpected disaster. Near-simultaneous attacks in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Michigan left New York’s mayor badly damaged. A short time later in Florida his campaign had completely, spontaneously collapsed.

Was it really a spontaneous collapse, or was Giuliani’s implosion the result of a secret controlled demolition? Let’s examine the facts.

First, while such collapses were common 50 or 100 years ago there is no way a modern campaign would just spontaneously collapse. Giuliani’s $60,929,240 campaign had been carefully engineered to withstand the harshest partisan attacks. In past years smaller, flimsier campaigns have stood strong against far more serious damage.

Second, consider the minor extent of pre-Florida damage. There were no signs of damage prior to the Iowa primary and even after the first impact Giuliani had lost only 56 delegates out of 2,380. Yet we are led to believe that this small blow could have initiated such a catastrophic collapse? We’re told this was the first campaign in history to spontaneously collapse due to such minor damage?

Now let’s examine the players in the game. Bernard Kerick, Giuliani’s campaign manager, was indicted on 16 counts of tax fraud and other federal charges. Giuliani Partners has been linked to the Qatar Ministry of the Interior and Abdullah Bin Khalid Al-Thani. The candidate himself was caught billing tens of thousands of dollars between obscure agencies. No act of sabotage would be too appalling for the suspicious and secretive agents at the center of the organization.

Finally, examine the collapse itself. Rudy’s campaign collapsed straight down onto its own footprint in a single smooth linear movement at nearly freefall speeds. This “collapse” bears no similarity to the sudden unpredictable, shuddering collapses of Gary Hart, Michael Dukakis, David Duke, or Mark Foley. Recordings at press conferences contain mysterious popping sounds similar to thermite charges. This event was in no way accidental; this collapse was exceptionally orderly and well-rehearsed.

Giuliani Collapse Small

Perhaps most incriminating, 4,000 Florida Jews did not show up to vote on the morning of the collapse. Reports from several sources indicate that many of those Jews had received phone calls the morning of the collapse warning them about the disaster. Calls originating from Karl Rove’s Republican Party.

So if this wasn’t a “collapse” then what was it? Reputable news agencies broadcast advance warnings of the implosion. Reports surfaced from Giuliani’s office that they were planning to “pull it“. And as the disaster unfolded, Rudy Giuliani calmly “departed to kill time in a nearby hangar“.

Why were the warnings ignored? Who in the chain of command will be held accountable for this failure? Did mysterious traders with prior knowledge profit from the destruction as the stock market reacted to the news? Why has there been a complete coordinated media blackout from the Giuliani campaign since the January 30?

Democracy was dealt a terrible blow that cold Florida morning in late January as one of our nation’s mightiest campaigns fell. The Americans who lost a candidate, the donors who lost more than $60 million in funds, and the families of the workers who were caught inside the campaign on that fateful day are owed an explanation. There are numerous red flags in the official story. Questioning that story is an act of responsible citizenship.
